I am beyond obsessed with food! I spend all week trawling through websites, blogs & cookbooks for inspiration as to what I’m going to make over the weekend! The week can’t go fast enough – all I want to do is cook. I don’t follow recipes to the letter – I prefer to use them as inspiration and try to make them my own. To attend Ballymaloe Cookery School is on my bucket list – so to win this amazing prize would truly be a dream come true. PICK ME, PICK ME, PICK ME!

My soupy stew is like a hug in a bowl! Perfect for the crisp weather we’re having at the moment where all you want to do is warm up with a big, comforting bowl of something delicious! This dish is made in the one pot too – so hardly any washing up! Onion, celery, carrot some garlic and freshly chopped rosemary act as a base for the soupy stew. The pumpkin gives the dish a lovely sweetness, while the lentils temper that sweetness somewhat whilst also acting to thicken the soup. Yum!

You should win!

Susan,

Huge luck with this - you are the best cook I know, and Stephen too and we love how you always get the mood and season so perfectly right. I'm still thinking about your hearty chicken cassrole last October, followed by the crispiest sweet crumble. Ballymaloe would be lucky to have you!

Cooking has always been your passion..I think you made your first cake when you were only 4 years old and have been "cooking up a storm" ever since.
An invitation to your house for dinner starts the taste buds going as soon as the invite is received as we always know something wonderful will be on the menu. Can't wait to taste this lovely stew , sounds yummy. I know Ballymaloe would be a dream come true for you.

Love Mama Bear xx

I used puy lentils in the recipe. I find these hold their shape better and their earthy flavour compliments the sweetness of the pumpkin - I believe the two work very well together - the end result looks and tastes great!
